THE SCIENCE OF STORYTELLING

In this interesting read "The Science of Storytelling", we explore a world from the perspective of a character with significant flaws. Every good story involves a character who is flawed and imperfect and has to overcome certain obstacles to truly discover who he /she is. The reader is then taken into a world where they try and understand how the journey of this character plays out in the end. Developing the character now would involve having him want something consciously, but need something subconsciously. This means that developing you need to think about what your flawed character may need to make sense of his/ her broken world. Several Movies such as American Beauty and The Truman show played this out brilliantly.
